Information Backup Policy

Introduction

At GrowMore Recruitment, safeguarding our business information and services is paramount. To ensure continuous operations and prevent data loss, we have implemented a comprehensive Information Backup Policy. This policy aims to protect our information assets from potential threats such as computer malfunctions, human errors, and natural disasters, thereby minimizing business downtime and facilitating swift data recovery. Adhering to this policy will help maintain the integrity and availability of critical information, ensuring our organisation operates smoothly and efficiently.

Objecives

The primary objectives of this Information Backup Policy are to:

  • Protect GrowMore Recruitment’s information assets and prevent data loss due to accidental deletion, corruption, or system failures.
  • Ensure timely restoration of information and business processes in the event of a system failure.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity and security during backup and recovery operations.
  • Support both company-wide and individual user data protection needs.

Scope

This policy applies to all information assets, information systems, and other resources provided by GrowMore Recruitment to support our software applications and business operations. It encompasses all data storage and backup practices within the organisation.

Policy

General Requirements:

  • Backups of GrowMore Recruitment servers and data must be comprehensive enough to ensure that server operating systems and applications are fully recoverable with minimal data or service loss. This can be achieved through a combination of snapshots, copies, incremental backups, differential backups, transaction logs, replication, or other techniques.
  • Information system owners are responsible for implementing adequate backup, system recovery, and testing procedures to ensure swift recovery from data loss or service interruptions.
  • Application-critical object storage will undergo quarterly audits, using random statistical sampling to verify replication accuracy. Critical block storage volumes will be backed up nightly, and daily tests will migrate the previous night’s backup to the development environment to verify safe and expeditious recovery.
  • Management must ensure that safeguards are in place to protect data integrity during recovery and restoration processes. This includes employing versioning and replication for object storage and encrypted backups and snapshots for block storage.
  • Business information should not be stored on laptops or portable devices. For remote employees, all business information must be stored in a secure company cloud drive.

Definitions:

  • Backup: The process of making extra copies of data stored on servers and computers to prevent loss or damage.
  • Restore: The process of using a backup to return data to its original state.
  • Cross Region Replication: The process of automatically replicating data to a different geographic region to ensure redundancy and backup.

Responsibilities:

  • The Technology Lead is responsible for ensuring this Information Backup Policy is up-to-date and aligned with GrowMore Recruitment’s business objectives and security requirements.
  • All GrowMore Recruitment employees, contractors, and third-party vendors must comply with the backup procedures outlined in this policy.

At GrowMore Recruitment, we are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and recovery. Our Information Backup Policy is a critical component of our overall data security strategy, ensuring that our business can continue to operate smoothly and efficiently even in the face of unforeseen challenges.
